
Orange to Play in Inaugural Emerald Coast Classic

The Syracuse women's basketball team headlines an eight-team field for the inaugural Emerald Coast Classic Women's Basketball Tournament, which will take place Nov. 25 and 26 at Raider Arena on the campus on Northwest Florida State College in Niceville, Fla.Â
The Orange are joined by fellow 2024 NCAA Tournament Second Round participants Alabama and Creighton as well as fellow ACC opponent Clemson. UAB, Alabama State, Mizzouri and Wichita State round out the field of eight. Championships will be determined in two brackets. The Orange will be in the Beach Bracket with Creighton, Missouri and Wichita State while Alabama, Alabama State, Clemson and UAB will be in the Bay Bracket.Â
The Emerald Coast Classic Women's Basketball Tournament is presented by Global Sports. Global Sports has produced 55 multi-team college basketball tournaments since 2007, with three more coming during the 2024-25 season.Â
Syracuse posted a 24-8 record last season and reached the NCAA Tournament Second Round after finishing tied for second in the ACC with a 13-6 record overall. The Orange matched program records in regular-season wins (23), ACC wins (13) and ACC road wins (6) while fifth-year guard Dyaisha Fair was a consensus Third Team All-America selection. Fair was drafted 16th overall by the Las Vegas Aces in the 2024 WNBA Draft.Â
Felisha Legette-Jack was named ACC Coach of the Year and returns seven players from the 2023-24 squad while adding a handful of new talent to the Orange roster for 2024-24.Â
