Seniors Tatum White and Sarah Thompson are the first four-time Krampade/American Hockey Coaches Association All-America Scholars in Syracuse ice hockey history. The pair lead a list of nine Orange skaters to earn the 2024 distinction, which is the second-highest total in program history. Graduate student Allie Kelley earned the honor for the third time in her career, while junior Erin Brousseau and sophomores Gabby Dougherty and Charlotte Hallett achieved the honor for the second time. Graduate student Kailey Langefels, senior Haley Uliasz and freshman Nea Tervonen are first-time honorees. The Orange posted a 3.748 grade point average in the spring, which was the highest for any Syracuse team.
Â
A team captain, White earned the College Hockey America (CHA) Scholar-Athlete of the Year award. The medicinal chemistry major has served as the Syracuse Student-Athlete Advisory Culture Committee co-chair for the past two years and was a 2023-24 Team IMPACT fellow. White tallied six goals and 14 assists and won 391 faceoffs, which ranks fourth in program history, last season. The Kingston, Ontario native ranks sixth on Syracuse's career faceoffs win record list with 862 in 118 games.
Â
A sport management major, Thompson tallied nine goals and four assists in 34 games in 2023-24. Thompson, who launched 'Sticks Together' to provide children in disadvantaged areas opportunities to learn and grow through the sport of ice hockey three years ago was one of five finalists for the 2024 Hockey Humanitarian Award, which is presented annually to college hockey's "finest citizen" and seeks to recognize players who contribute to local and/or global communities in a true humanitarian spirit. The Ottawa, Ontario native was a semifinalist for the honor as a junior.
