
Orange Elect Captains for the 2024-25 Season

Graduate students Tatum White and Allie Kelley will serve as team captains for the 2024-25 Syracuse University ice hockey team. Juniors Maya D'Arcy, Heidi Knoll, and graduate student Charli Kettyle will wear an A for the Orange. White will serve her second year as captain, while Kelley will serve her first year with a C on her jersey. Knoll, D'Arcy, and Kettyle will lead as first-time assistant captains for 'Cuse.
White is a 2024 AHCA All-America Scholar and the 2024 CHA Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The Kingston, Ontario native has scored 54 points, including 18 goals, and 36 assists, in 118 games at Syracuse. She is the leading returning scorer after tallying 20 points (6 goals and 14 assists) in 2023-24. The forward ranks sixth in program history in faceoff wins with 862. White has been on the AHA All-Academic Team four times and was named a Team IMPACT Fellow. As a medicinal chemistry major, she earned the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors and has maintained her position on the ACC Academic Honor Roll every semester.
A native of East Berne, New York, Kelley holds the school record with 65 saves in a single game against St. Lawrence (1/16/24). She has played a total of 32 games and tallied 1,130 saves. Kelley was a 2024 AHCA All-America Scholar, 2024 AHA Student-Athlete of the Year, and was named to the AHA All-Academic Team. The goalie is pursuing a master's degree in exercise science in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics.
In her third season with the Orange, Knoll will serve as an assistant captain. The Ottawa, Ontario native has scored seven points and six goals in 67 games. She has a personal best of five points (five goals) last season. The forward was named to the 2024 AHA All-Academic Team. Knoll is majoring in sport management in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamic.
D'Arcy, a junior from Cambridge, Ontario, has tallied 14 points, two goals, and 12 assists in 70 games at Syracuse. The junior defenseman was considered during the 2022-23 CHA All-Rookie Team selection process. In the 2022-23 campaign, D'Arcy earned Rookie of the Week (10/17) after the Clarkson series and CHA Defenseman of the Week (11/28) after the series against Post. During her freshman season she was named to the CHA All-Academic Team and earned ACC Academic Honor Roll. She is majoring in selected studies in the School of Education.
Kettyle joins the Orange for her first year. The defenseman transferred from the University of New Hampshire where she scored 36 points, including seven goals, and 29 assist, in 127 games. In 2023-24 Kettyle was ranked fifth in the America East for blocked shots, tallying a total of 65. The Perth, Ontario product was named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team in 2021 and 2022; in addition to earning 2021 AHCA All-American Scholar.
Syracuse head coach Britni Smith, now in her third year, will guide the Orange in their first game on September 28 at No. 7 Minnesota Duluth, (8 p.m. BTN+) at Amsoil Arena.
