Junior Year: On October 18, 2004, the NCAA granted Edelin’s waiver request, making him eligible to compete in intercollegiate athletics...The University had filed a progress-toward-degree waiver request on Edelin’s behalf...He saw his first action of the campaign against ST. BONAVENTURE on December 1...He scored a season-high 14 points in Syracuse's dramatic come-from-behind victory at RUTGERS...That effort followed a 12-point, seven-assist showing versus WEST VIRGINIA...Edelin started consecutive contests against VILLANOVA, PITTSBURGH and BOSTON COLLEGE.
Sophomore Year: He made his first collegiate start in the opener against CHARLOTTE and remained with the first five for 16 straight contests…After a career-best 11 assists against NC-ASHEVILLE, Edelin had a career-high 28 points, plus nine assists and nine boards versus CANISIUS…He followed that with 22 points against MICHIGAN STATE. . .He was the BIG EAST co-Player of the Week on January 5…On February 10 he left the team for personal reasons and did not finish the campaign.
Freshman Year: Edelin missed the first 12 regular-season games because the NCAA Subcommittee on Student-Athlete Reinstatement upheld the NCAA staff’s decision to withhold him from those contests for violations of NCAA Bylaw 14.7.2 (Outside Competition)…Edelin made his debut at PITTSBURGH on Jan. 18 and scored his first points…Edelin scored 18 points in the Orange’s win at WEST VIRGINIA…Edelin scored 26 points at NOTRE DAME…He set a career high with nine rebounds at RUTGERS…He led the team in scoring in the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament with 15 points against MANHATTAN and 20 points in SU’s comeback win versus OKLAHOMA STATE…Edelin made 8-of-12 from the field against the Cowboys.
Oak Hill Academy: Edelin spent the 2000-01 school year at Oak Hill Academy (Va.)…He helped Coach Steve Smith’s team to a 33-0 record and a mythical national high school title…He was named the Warriors’ most valuable player after averaging 21.2 points, 8.2 assists and 4.4 rebounds a game…Edelin earned all-tournament honors at the Holiday Prep Classic (Nev.), Glaxo-Wellcome Holiday Invitational (N.C.) and the St. James Invitational (Md.)…He was the MVP at the Slam Dunk Challenge (N.Y.) and the National Hoops Classic (Ohio)…Edelin was a third-team Parade All-American and a third-team selection on the USA Today All-USA Boys Basketball Team…He was picked a sixth-team High School All-American by Bob Gibbons All-Star Report…He participated in Sonny Vaccaro’s Roundball Classic (Ill.) and the Coca-Cola All-American Classic (Nev.) in April…In June of 2001, Edelin played for the U.S. in the National 18 & Under World Championships, held in Douai, France…The U.S. squad won the event for the first time…Edelin had 22 points and eight assists in the title game, a 102-99 victory against Canada.
Edelin enrolled in Syracuse University in August, 2001 but was suspended in October for the remainder of the school year…His petition for readmission was approved in June.
High School: He was part of back-to-back 28-5 clubs at DeMatha High School (Md.) in 1998-99 and 1999-00…Edelin was coached by the legendary Morgan Wootten.
