Sophomore Year (2008-09): Named alternate captain her sophomore campaign • Played in all 28 contests • Scored first goal at Quinnipiac en route to the program’s first win and shutout in history • Netted a career-high two goals against Sacred Heart on Oct. 31 • Finished first on the team with 88 shots and tied for third in points (19) • Had two game winning-goals • Assisted on both goals against Niagara to become one of two players to secure two points in SU’s first playoff game in program history • Named to the Spring 2009 Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
Freshman Year (2007-08): Saw action in 36 games at Bemidji State University • Named WCHA Rookie of the week (Oct. 9, 2007) • Scored five goals and tallied two assists • Scored one short-handed and one power-play goal.
Before Syracuse: Won two Alaska High School State Championships in 2003-205 • Started her travel hockey career in Alaska, where she participated for the Under-19AAA Alaska North Stars as an eighth grader • Played for North American Hockey Academy for junior and senior year • In 2005-06, her NAHA team was NAPHA champions • In 2006-07, her team finished with a 64-6-4 record, winning four tournaments • Played for the Under-19 San Jose Sharks for two seasons, where she was an assistant captain • Was chosen in 2006 as part of the Pacific District Team • An alternate for national camp in 2005 and 2006.
Personal: Born December 1988 • Daughter of Anne Hextrum and Greer Rising • Two brothers • Majoring in sociology, minoring in coaching.
