The athletic trainer for Syracuse ice hockey, Emily Hynes joined the Orange athletics department in November, 2022. Prior to coming to Syracuse, Hynes was an athletic assistant for athletic training at Utica College, where she worked with the women’s lacrosse and football programs.

Hynes’ athletic training experience also includes work at St. Bonaventure where she was an intern athletic trainer working with the Bonnies’ softball and swimming & diving programs from August 2019 through January 2021.

Hynes earned her associate degree in health and physical education studies from Corning Community College and then her BS in athletic training with a minor in exercise science from the State University of New York College at Cortland. While at Cortland, Hynes worked with the Red Dragons’ football and track & field teams, the Le Moyne College men’s lacrosse team and in the SUNY Cortland Athletic Training Clinic.

A native of Addison, N.Y., Hynes is working toward her MHA in healthcare administration from Utica University. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the New York State Athletic Trainers’ Association.
