SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Three Syracuse Orange women's basketball games will be aired as part of the BIG EAST Conference's 2009-10 television package in a three-weekend stretch in the month of February. Syracuse's game at Villanova on Feb. 9, against Cincinnati on Feb. 13 and at Rutgers on Feb. 21 will all be televised.
SU's road contest at Villanova on Tuesday, February 9 has been selected as one of the record-tying 25 appearances on CBS College Sports Network. Syracuse's home game versus Cincinnati on Saturday, Feb. 13 will be featured as the BIG EAST "Game of the Week", while SU's match up at Rutgers on Sunday, Feb. 21 has been selected as one of seven regular-season games on ESPNU.
Coming off a season in which a league-record 13 teams advanced to the postseason, the BIG EAST's 2009-10 women's basketball television schedule features all 16 teams for the fourth consecutive year.
CBS College Sports Network (CBS C) will continue its “Conference Game of the Week” broadcasts. The record-tying 25 appearances will consist of 11 conference games, including three doubleheaders during the league schedule, and three non-conference games.
For the second time in three years, all 16 BIG EAST schools are featured in the "Game of the Week" package, which is shown in the 2 p.m. time slot on Saturdays. The package will begin on Jan. 2 and run every Saturday until the end of the regular-season schedule on Feb. 27. The 2 p.m. time slot follows the BIG EAST men's "Game of the Week" package and allows many of the Regional Sports Networks (RSNs) to carry a BIG EAST doubleheader.
The Orange opens the season at the Carrier Dome against Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday, Nov. 13.
