SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The No. 8 Orange looks to continue its winning ways in BIG EAST play on Sunday when it hosts Cincinnati at noon in the Carrier Dome. Syracuse is 2-0 in league play this season and 7-2 overall, while the Bearcats are 5-4, 0-1 in BIG EAST action.
Sunday's game will be broadcast live on WJPZ 89.1FM in the Syracuse area and on Orange All Access on SUathletics.com. Admission to Sunday's game is free of charge.
Syracuse defeated Louisville, 15-4, on Friday, extending its BIG EAST regular-season winning streak to 11 games, dating back to the 2007 season. Overall, the Orange has won 15 straight against league opponents, including two wins in both the 2007 and 2008 BIG EAST Tournament.
THE SERIES
Syracuse and Cincinnati have met once in the history of the two programs. The Orange leads the series, 1-0.
SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
Entering this weekend's play, freshman Laura Simanski is Cincinnati's leading scorer with 26 goals. She is one of three players to reach double figures in goals scored. Senior Lindsey Marshall has 17 goals, while sophomore Lynsey Burton has 11 goals. Freshman Katherine Russo has started every game in goal for the Bearcats. She has a .475 save percentage and a goals-against average of 13.22.
DOVE NEARS SCORING MILESTONE
Junior Christina Dove needs just two more points to reach 200 in her career. In 48 career games, Dove has amassed 198 points. With two more points, she would become the third player in Syracuse history to reach the 200-point plateau. Dove ranks third on the school's career scoring list, behind senior Katie Rowan's 334 points and Leigh-Ann Zimmer's (2001-04) 233 points.
