Five Named BIG EAST All-Academic

Syracuse's women's basketball team had five student-athletes selected to the 2008-09 BIG EAST All-Academic Team. This ranks them tied for fourth in the BIG EAST for most selections along with Georgetown, Notre Dame and Cincinnati. Lina Lisnere, a 2009 graduate with a degree in retail management major, earned the honor for the fourth consecutive year. Sophomore biology major Marisa Gobuty was named to the team for the second straight year. Rounding out the group were first time selections Tyler Ash, Erica Morrow and Vionca Murray.
SU finished the season 17-15 and posted back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 1989-90
