Orange Hit the Road for Pair of BIG EAST Contests

Syracuse is back on the road on this weekend for a two BIG EAST Conference games. The Orange takes on No. 5/7 Notre Dame at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and DePaul at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Syracuse enters Friday's game with an overall record of 5-4-3 and a 2-1 mark in BIG EAST play. The Fighting Irish are 9-1 overall, 3-0 in the league, while DePaul is 6-4-2 this season and 1-2 in conference action.
THE SERIES
Syracuse and Notre Dame will meet for the eighth time in South Bend on Friday. The Fighting
Irish leads the all-time series, 7-0. Friday's match will mark the first time the two schools
have played since the 2007 season.
Syracuse and DePaul will meet for the second time in Chicago on Sunday. The Orange leads
the all-time series 1-0. In its only previous meeting, Syracuse defeated the Blue Demons, 3-2,
at the SU Soccer Stadium during the 2007 season.
ORANGE AGAINST RANKED OPPONENTS
Friday's game against Notre Dame marks the second time Syracuse will face an opponent ranked in the top 25 this season. Portland was ranked No. 4 when it took on Syracuse on sept. 5 in the Husky/Nike Invitational. The Orange took an early 1-0 lead, but couldn't hold on in a 3-1 loss.
SAVING THE BEST FOR LAST
Through 12 games, Syracuse has already matched its win total from each of the past two seasons with five victories. In addition, the Orange has already surpassed its offensive output from the 2009 season with 14 goals. Half of its 14 goals have been in the final 10 minutes of play.
