JAMAICA, N.Y. – In its final game of the regular season, Syracuse heads to Jamaica, N.Y. to face St. John's on Friday, October 21 at 7 p.m. The Orange enters the game with a 7-6-3 record, 6-4 in the BIG EAST, while the Red Storm is 8-8-1 overall, 4-5-0 in conference action.
THE SERIES
Syracuse and St. John's will meet for the 16th time at Belson Stadium in Jamaica, N.Y. on Friday. Syracuse leads the all-time series, 8-5-2. SU has faced the Red Storm every year since the program's inception, winning the first three contests. The Orange broke a four-game drought last year, when it defeated the Red Storm at the SU Soccer Stadium, 1-0. St. John's has lost its last four games, all against BIG EAST opponents in West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Marquette, and South Florida.
SCOUTING THE RED STORM

Lauren Ferris is second on the team with 37 saves for a record of 2-5-0.
ORANGE CLINCHES SPOT IN BIG EAST QUARTERFINALS
With the thrilling double-overtime victory against USF last week, Syracuse has secured the third seed in the American Division and a berth in the BIG EAST Tournament. The top three finishers in each division earn a first-round bye. SU is set to appear in its first BIG EAST Tournament since 2005, when the Orange qualified as a five-seed. SU will travel to either Louisville or Georgetown, the No. 2 seed from the National Division, for a quarterfinal match-up on Sunday, Oct. 30. The semifinals will take place on Friday, Nov. 4, with the conference championship game being played on Sunday, Nov. 6. The semifinal and final contests will take place in Morgantown, W.Va.
REGIONAL RANKINGS INCLUDE THE ORANGE
Syracuse is ranked eighth in the most recent Continental Tire NSCAA Northeast Regional Rankings released on Monday, Oct. 17. The Orange is one of seven BIG EAST teams in the regional top 10.
Three of Syracuse's four conference losses have come against squads ranked in the Northeast Region top six as No. 1 Marquette, No. 2 West Virginia, and No. 6 Georgetown defeated SU earlier in the 2011 campaign. The Orange recorded a win against No. 9 Rutgers in double overtime.
ANGHEL MOVING UP
Sophomore goalkeeper# Brittany Anghel# needs just one more shutout to tie the school record for shutouts in a season. Anghel has seven shutouts this season, which put her in a three-way for second place on the single-season record list. Katie Karlander holds the record with eight shutouts in 2000.
Her last shutout against South Florida increased Anghel's career total to 13 shutouts. She ranks third on Syracuse's career shutouts leader list. Shannone Myers (2001-04) and Karlander (1999- 00) are tied for second on the list with 14 apiece. Anghel is tied for second in the BIG EAST in shutouts (7) and ranks eighth in goals-against average (1.17).
