Alexander Named To BIG EAST Honor Roll

Following a career-high 33 points at Binghamton on Saturday, junior Kayla Alexander has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. Alexander averaged 24.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in SU's two wins last week.
On Tuesday against Buffalo, she scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds and blocked a season-high five shots. Against Binghamton, Alexander became the 21st player in school history to score 1,000 career points when she tallied a career-high 33 points. Alexander was 12-for-14 from the floor and 9-for-12 from the line. Eleven of her points came during a 23-8 scoring run that helped the Orange erase an early 10-2 deficit. She also grabbed 10 rebounds against the Bearcats, giving Alexander her second double-double of the season.
The Milton, Ontario native leads the Orange with 20.8 points and 9.6 rebounds in 26.6 minutes of play per game. Alexander is shooting 38-of-62 from the floor (61.3%).
The Orange begins a three-game road trip on Tuesday against Boise State before traveling to Laie, Hawaii for the Hukilau Invitational.
