The -/rv Syracuse University women's basketball team (20-7, 8-6) returns to the friendly confines of the Carrier Dome when it hosts Providence (12-14, 5-9) on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 1 p.m. The contest will mark the home finale in the collegiate careers of seniors Erica Morrow, Tasha Harris and Chanieka Williams, who will be honored in a pre-game Senior Day ceremony.
Saturday is also Ladies Day in the Dome. Kelly Lyn, Visage, Hakuna Matata Tanning, Lisa Davis, Focus Studios and Curves/Cycling Gym will be the concourse promoting their businesses.
The Orange has won four consecutive BIG EAST games for the first time since the 1998-99 season. SU hasn't won five straight BIG EAST contests since it won six consecutive during the 1987-88 season.
Providence has lost three of its last four games, including a 62-50 setback at home to #24/22 Marquette on Tuesday night.

SCOUTING PROVIDENCE
Providence (12-14, 5-9 BIG EAST) has lost three of its last four games, including a 62-50 setback at home to #24/22 Marquette on Tuesday night.
Senior Mi-Khida Hankins leads the Friars with 10.1 points per game. Senior Teya Wright has recorded a team-best 8.0 rebounds per game.
Wright has led the Friars in scoring eight times this season, including the last five contests.
Providence is 6-0 when shooting 40.0 percent or better from the floor. The Friars are shooting 35.7 percent (568-1590) on the year.
Sixth-year Friar Head Coach Phil Seymore has led the Friars to a 5-9 record in the BIG EAST this season. It marks the second most league wins during his tenure with the Friars. A year ago, PC finished the season 7-9 in the BIG EAST and earned a first-round bye in the BIG EAST Women's Basketball Championship.
The Friars have recorded double digits in the win column for the fifth consecutive year under Seymore.
SERIES NOTES
This is the 48th time Syracuse and Providence will meet on the hardwood. The Friars own a 31-17 advantage in the all-time series.
SU has won two of the last three meetings, including a 76-71 victory in the second round of last season's BIG EAST Championship.
The Orange also won the last encounter in Syracuse, 78-72 during the 2008-09 season.
ORANGE VS. PROVIDENCE IN 2009-10
Juanita Ward led the Orange in scoring for the second consecutive game with 18 points in Syracuse's 71-69 loss to Providence on Jan. 19, 2010 at Alumni Hall. Ward shot 6-of-8 from the field and 6-of-10 from the charity stripe, helping the Orange to its 75 percent (24-32) free-throw shooting.
Kayla Alexander backed up Ward with 14 points, while Carmen Tyson-Thomas was one point shy of registering a double-double with 10 points and a team-high nine rebounds to go along with a team-best three assists.
Erica Morrow led Syracuse with 24 points and Kayla Alexander added 16 in a BIG EAST Championship second round victory versus Providence on March 6, 2010 in Hartford, Conn.
SECOND BEST RECORD
Syracuse's 20-7 record is the second-best mark the Orange has ever had after 27 games. Only SU's 21-6 record during the 2007-08 and 1980-81 seasons was better. Syracuse was also 20-7 in 1987-88.
20-WIN SEASON
Syracuse has recorded back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time in school history. SU has now posted three 20-win seasons in the last four years. Amazing when you consider the Orange only has five 20-win seasons in its 40-year history.
WINNING STREAK
The Orange has won four consecutive BIG EAST games for the first time since the 1998-99 season.
SU hasn't won five straight BIG EAST contests since it won six consecutive during the 1987-88 season.
Syracuse has put together two separate three-game BIG EAST win steaks. SU is currently on a four-game winning streak, having defeated Villanova, Louisville, St. John's and Cincinnati. The Orange defeated Marquette, Pittsburgh and South Florida in three straight games early this year.
It marks the first time since 1987-88 that SU has recorded two three-game BIG EAST winning streaks in the same season.
FINISHING STRONG
Sophomore center Kayla Alexander led the Orange offensively for the second consecutive game, notching 18 points, seven rebounds and a block in Syracuse's 55-53 victory at Cincinnati. It was Alexander's fourth consecutive double-digit game. She is averaging 19.5 points during that span.
She has led SU in scoring a team-best 13 times and rebounding a team-high 12 times. It was her team-high 14th 15-plus point game of the year.
The sophomore leads the team in points (14.6), rebounds (7.5), blocks (2.9), field-goal percentage (.570) and free-throw percentage (.780).
Alexander leads the BIG EAST in blocks and ranks fifth in field-goal percentage and offensive rebounds (3.3), sixth in rebounding, seventh in free-throw percentage, ninth in scoring and 15th in defensive rebounds (4.2).
She is also 12th in the nation in field-goal percentage and 14th in blocks.
HEMINGWAY DOUBLES UP ... AGAIN
Junior guard Iasia Hemingway notched her seventh double-double of the year with 10 points and a team-best 11 rebounds while adding three blocks at Cincinnati. She has posted a team-best 20 double-figure scoring games this season.
The junior is second in points (12.0) and field-goal percentage (.527), third in rebounds (6.9) and assists (2.2).
She is averaging a very similar 11.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists in BIG EAST play.
Hemingway is sixth in the BIG EAST in offensive rebounds (3.1), 12th in rebounding, 13th in field-goal percentage and 24th in scoring.
FROM DOWNTOWN
Sophomore guard Carmen Tyson-Thomas recorded 14 points – including 10 in the first half – and four rebounds, one assist and one steal at Cincinnati. Nine of her points came from behind the 3-point line.
She is second on the team in rebounds (7.3), third in steals (1.3), fourth in assists (1.4) and fifth in points (8.6).
Tyson-Thomas is eighth in the BIG EAST in rebounding, ninth in offensive rebounds (2.9) and 12th in defensive rebounds (4.4).
CONVERTING FROM THE FOUL LINE
Syracuse has shot better than 82.0 from the foul line its last two outings.
SU shot 82.4 percent (14-17) from the charity stripe at Cincinnati.
It was the eighth time (Long Island, New Hampshire, Maryland Eastern Shore, Saint Francis, Rutgers, Marquette and St. John's) SU has shot better than 80.0 percent from the charity stripe this season. The Orange is 7-1 in those games.
Syracuse converted a season-best 85.7 percent (18-21) of its free-throw attempts in its victory at rv/22 St. John's.
SU has made 71.5 percent (476-666) of its attempts. Syracuse has made more free throws than its opponents have shot (400).
The Orange is fifth in the BIG EAST in free-throw percentage.
DEFENSE HAS BEEN IMPRESSIVE
The Orange held Cincinnati to just 53 points on 37.8 percent (17-45).
SU is 14-1 when its holds the opposition to less than 60 points and 16-0 when its opponent shoots below 38.0 percent.
Syracuse is limiting its opponents to just 56.4 points per game on 35.2 percent (537-1526) shooting.
The Orange is 19th in the nation in field-goal percentage defense.
SU is also second in the BIG EAST in field-goal percentage defense and tied for sixth in scoring defense.
SCROING ATTEMPTS
Syracuse attempted 12 more shots (57-45) in its win at Cincinnati.
The Orange continues to get many more shots off than its opponents. SU is averaging 59.6 shot attempts per game, compared to the oppositions' 56.5 shot attempts.
SU had a team-best 77 field-goal attempts in its victory versus Arkansas Pine Bluff on New Year's Day.
LAST TIME OUT
Syracuse overcame a 19-point deficit to defeat Cincinnati on Tuesday night at Fifth Third Arena. With the win, the Orange posted its second-consecutive 20-win season and the fifth in its 40-year history. It also marks the first back-to-back 20-win seasons in program history.
Sophomore center Kayla Alexander led the Orange offensively for the second-consecutive game, notching 18 points and seven rebounds. Sophomore guard Carmen Tyson-Thomas was second on the team with 14 points – including 10 in the first half – and four rebounds. Junior guard Iasia Hemingway rounded out the double-digit scorers, notching her team-best tying seventh SU double-double with 10 points and a team-best 11 rebounds while adding three blocks.
Sophomore guard Elashier Hall added four points and five rebounds to the Orange effort while senior guard Erica Morrow directed the offense with a team-best five assists.
