
Erica Morrow Still an Orange

Syracuse University head coach Quentin Hillsman has named former Orange standout Erica Morrow the women's basketball graduate student manager for the 2011-12 season. One of the greatest players in Syracuse history, Morrow recently graduated Syracuse with a degree in information management and technology. The Brooklyn, N.Y. native is now enjoyed in the S.I. Newhouse of School of Public Communication intensive one-year broadcast journalism graduate program.
“I am very excited about the addition of Erica (Morrow) to our staff,” Hillsman said. “She brings positive energy daily and has a tremendous amount of enthusiasm for the game of basketball. Being an alum, she knows what our goals and expectations are. I am very excited that she has decided to be part of the Syracuse Orange women's basketball for another year.”
Morrow ended her career as Syracuse's all-time leader in minutes played with 4,163. The Brooklyn, N.Y. native is second on SU's all-time scoring chart with 1,658 points. Morrow also ranks second in games played and started with 130. Morrow is ranked in the top 10 on 12 other career lists. She ends the year leading the team in steals (2.0) and minutes played (31.6). She is also second on the squad in assists (3.2) and fourth in points (10.1). She also made (50) and attempted (141) a team-high number of 3-pointers.
“I am excited at the chance to stay at Syracuse University and be part of the Coach Hillsman's staff,” Morrow said. “I could not ask for a better opportunity. I get to study at the prestigious Newhouse School and learn more about the game I love from one of the best coaching staffs in the country.”
The first McDonald's All-American in program history led team in steals was second on the squad in assists and third in points her senior year. Against 6/6 Ohio State, Morrow scored a season-best 27 points on season-best 10 made field goals. She was a preseason All-BIG EAST Honorable mention and was selected to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team for two consecutive seasons.
