The Syracuse ice hockey team, which hosts CHA rival Niagara this weekend with crucial conference points up for grabs, will host the program's annual 'Skate for the Cure' event on Friday and Saturday. 'Skate for the Cure' is a conference-wide campaign designed to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research.
During both games against the Purple Eagles this weekend, SU will be wearing pink jerseys in support of the event. A silent auction will take place throughout the weekend at Tennity Ice Pavilion for fans to bid on the game-worn jerseys, concluding following Saturday's game. The starting bid for each jersey is $125, but fans can also offer a 'Buy Now' bid of $250.
Chuck-a-Puck will also take place in between the second and third periods of both games, with proceeds from the weekend going to benefit the American Cancer Society.
Friday's game is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. while Saturday afternoon's puck drop is slated for 2:00 p.m.
