Incoming Syracuse women's basketball freshman Pachiyaanna Roberts led her high school, the McEachern Indians, to a perfect 33-0 record and a Class AAAAA state championship this past season. The Power Springs, Ga. native helped the Indians to a No. 2 ranking among the POWERADE FAB 50, and is ranked as the No. 8 player to watch by Hoopgurlz heading into her first season with the Orange in 2012-13.
Roberts produced 18 double-doubles last season, averaging 17.9 points and 10.5 rebounds per game en route to earning Georgia's Miss Basketball honor. Roberts displayed the ability to play all five positions on the floor throughout the season, and also averaged 3.8 steals, 2.4 assists and 1.7 blocks per game during her senior campaign.
"Pachiyaanna is a tremendous athlete with the ability to be a consistent scoring threat," said Syracuse head coach Quentin Hillsman.
Roberts is one of five incoming freshmen that will suit up for Syracuse next season, including McDonald's All-Americans Brianna Butler and Brittney Sykes, as well as Cornelia Fondren and Taylor Ford.
