2012-13 Schedule | Quick Facts
Five games against teams from last season's NCAA Tournament and a new College Hockey America (CHA) playoff format highlight the 2012-13 Syracuse ice hockey schedule, which was announced by head coach Paul Flanagan on Monday. SU's 34 game schedule includes 18 home games at Tennity Ice Pavilion as well as the addition of Lindenwood, Penn State and RIT to the CHA conference slate.
"Our staff and program are very excited about the upcoming season," Flanagan said. "Once again, we will face a very challenging CHA league schedule while also being afforded an opportunity to play teams from the ECAC and Hockey East conferences."
The Orange will kick off the 2012-13 campaign with two home games against New Hampshire and Northeastern on Oct. 5-6. Northeastern narrowly missed an at-large bid to the national tournament last season, and SU picked up a 2-1 victory against the Wildcats at the Whittemore Center in 2011-12.
Conference play will start early this season as Syracuse heads to University Park, Pa. to square off with Penn State in the Nittany Lions' inaugural varsity season.
