SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse team goes for its third consecutive win on Sunday, Sept. 30 when it hosts Rutgers at 1 p.m. There is no admission charge.
The Orange is in second place in the BIG EAST's American Division with a 3-1-1 mark in conference play. Overall, Syracuse is 6-4-2. The Scarlet Knights enter Sunday's game with an 8-5 overall record and a 1-4 mark in league action.
THE SERIES
Sunday's game marks the 15th meeting between Syracuse and Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights own a 7-6-1 advantage in the all-time series.
Jonelle Filigno is tied for first in the BIG EAST with nine goals this season. Her 20 points rank third in the league. Emmy Simpkins has started 10 games for Rutgers. She has a 0.83 goals-against average and a .786 save percentage.
OFFENSE ON A ROLL
Syracuse is coming off a 3-1 victory against Seton Hall on Friday. SU has now scored three goals in a game three times this season. It marks the first time the Orange has had three or more goals in three games in a season since 2004.
