Billadeau, Sharfe Earn CHA Accolades

HAVERHILL, Mass.—Margot Scharfe and Kallie Billadeau were both named College Hockey America Players of the week for their performance in the wins over No. 4/3 Boston College and Union College this past weekend. This is the second time Billadeau has earned a CHA weekly accolade this season.

Scharfe recorded four points on the weekend, scoring three goals and one assist against Boston College and Union College. Scharfe scored the third goal of the game against No. 4/3 Boston College to cement the 4-1 victory over the Eagles. She also tipped in two shots against Union, including the second of four power play goals for the Orange, which was also the game-winning goal. Scharfe score the first goal of the game against Union, the only even-strength score, and added an assist on the final goal of the game.

Billadeau was excellent in net against No. 4/3 Boston College allowing only one goal on 44 attempts. She stopped 25 shots in the first and second period and made 18 saves in the third period, only letting one rebounded shot get past her. Billadeau didn't allow any power play goals despite facing eight opportunities, including a five-on-three situation, stopping all 14 shots on target. This is her second win of the season against a top-10 opponent. She leads the league in save percentage (.943), which also ranks seventh nationally and has a 2.03 GAA for the season.

Syracuse opens conference play on November 9-10 against Penn State after taking this weekend off. SU faces the Nittany Lions on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.
