SYRACUSE, N.Y. – No. 5/5 Syracusehosts Marquette on Sunday, April 20 at 12:30 p.m. in the Carrier Dome in its final home game of the regular season. The Orange's nine seniors will be honored in a pregame ceremony. SU (11-3) is going for its seventh consecutive win.
The game will be broadcast live on WJPZ 89.1FM in the Syracuse area. Orange fans can also follow the action on SUathletics.com with live audio and video on Orange All Access. Subscriptions to Orange All Access are available at daily, monthly and yearly rates.
THANK YOU SENIORS
Sunday's contest will be the final regular-season home game for Syracuse's senior class. Becca Block, Linley Block, Bridget Daley, Trenna Hill, Taylor Nims, Caz-Marie Norwich, Tori Praino, Michelle Tumolo and Mandy Willison will be honored in a pregame ceremony. The group has led the Orange to a record of 51-25, two BIG EAST regular-season titles, two NCAA Final Four appearances and the program's first trip to the national championship game.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Marquette is completing its inaugural season in 2013. The Golden Eagles have lost 11 in a row and are 2-13 this season.
Claire Costanza leads Marquette in scoring with 37 points on 16 goals and 21 assists. Kenzie Brown has a team-high 21 goals, while Hayley Baas has amassed 21 points this season on 18 goals and three assists. Sarah Priem has played the majority of minutes in goal for the Golden Eagles. She has recorded 116 saves and has a 15.26 goals-against average this season.
Meredith Black is the first head coach in Marquette women's lacrosse history. Previously, she served as an assistant coach at Towson, Notre Dame and California-Berkeley.
THE SERIES
Sunday's game marks the first meeting between Syracuse and Marquette.
