Syracuse goes for its first ACC championship Sunday against Maryland.

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Syracuse gets a chance to avenge its only setback of the season when it faces Maryland in the title game of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Women's Lacrosse Championship on Sunday, April 27. Opening draw at Alumni Stadium on the Boston College campus is set for 1 p.m.
The Orange is ranked No. 1 in the IWLCA poll and No. 2 in the Brine media poll, while the Terrapins are ranked No. 2 by the coaches and No. 1 by the media. Syracuse enters Sunday's game with an overall record of 17-1. It's only loss came was a 12-10 setback against Maryland in the Carrier Dome on March 10. Syracuse extended its winning streak to 11 games with its victory against North Carolina in the ACC Championship semifinals. The Terrapins are 18-1, with their only loss coming to the Tar Heels on April 5.
Sunday's championship will be broadcast on RSN, including the YES Network, and ESPN3. Click here for a list of affiliates carrying the game. HOW THEY GOT HERE
Syracuse, the No. 2 seed in the tournament, topped Notre Dame, 16-11, in the quarterfinals before beating North Carolina, 9-7, in the semifinal. The top-seeded Terrapins defeated Virginia Tech, 14-9, in the first round and then beat Virginia, 15-9, in the semifinal.
THE SERIES
Maryland leads the all-time series with Syracuse, 14-1. The Terrapins defeated the Orange, 12-10, earlier this season in the Carrier Dome. Syracuse's only win against Maryland was a 10-9 victory in College Park in 2012.
