
Chandler and Hillsman Open at World Championship

Netherlands is undefeated, while Canada has split its contests
CHEKHOV, Russia – Incoming freshman forward Julia Chandler and head women's basketball coach Quentin Hillsman began play at the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship this past weekend. Chandler is on the Canadian U19 national team, while Hillsman is serving as an assistant coach for the Netherlands.

After two contests, Chandler and the Canadians are 1-1 in group play, defeating Mali on Saturday, July 18 and losing to France the following day. Hillsman and the Dutch are a perfect 2-0 after beating Argentina on Saturday, July 18 and Chinese Taipei the next day.

Through two games, Chandler has played in every contest for the Canadians. The Toronto, Ontario native played in 11 minutes in the win against Mali, recording three rebounds, one steal, and one blocked shot. Against France, she pulled down one board in four minutes of action.

Both Chandler and Hillsman will be back on the court on Tuesday. Canada plays Belize at 6:30 a.m. EST before the Netherlands takes on Russia at 11:00 a.m. EST.
