
Orange Meet Michigan State in ACC/Big Ten Challenge

Marks the second meeting between the two programs
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Syracuse University women's basketball team will play Michigan State in the 2016 ACC/Big Ten Challenge, the conferences announced on Wednesday morning. Syracuse and Michigan State will meet on Wednesday, Nov. 30 in the Carrier Dome.
The Orange will be participating in their fourth ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Syracuse owns a 1-2 overall record in the competition, defeating Penn State in 2014 and losing to Iowa in 2013 and Maryland this past year.
Game times, as well as television coverage, will be announced at a later date.
This will mark the second meeting between the two programs. The Orange and Spartans first met at the 2014 Florida Sunshine Classic, where Michigan State scored an 89-76 victory. Guard Alexis Peterson tallied 15 points, four assists, and three assists.
Syracuse is coming off its best season in program history, to date. The Orange set program records on their path to the national final by defeating five nationally-ranked foes, winning 13 conference games, notching 23 regular-season victories, and collecting 30 overall wins. Following its defeat to Connecticut in the national championship, the team was ranked third nationally in the final coaches' poll, its highest ranking in program history.
Michigan State finished the 2015-16 season with a 25-9 overall record and advanced to the second round of the 2016 NCAA Tournament. The Spartans were the 2016 Big Ten Tournament runners-up, losing to Maryland. Guard Tori Jankoska, a 2016 All-Big Ten honoree, is the team's leading returning scorer.
