WINTHROP, Mass. – Following a series sweep of RIT, the Orange swept the CHA Weekly Honors, as well. Redshirt junior Brooke Avery earned CHA Player of the Week, freshman Jessica DiGirolamo was tabbed as CHA Rookie of the Week and senior goalie Abbey Miller received CHA Goalie of the Week honors for the second week in a row.
Avery amassed four points in the two games against RIT, tallying three goals and an assist. The New Hampshire native recorded her first career two-goal game in the series finale, helping Syracuse to a 5-1 victory over the Tigers. She sits tied for first on the team with five goals on the season.
DiGirolamo earned the first conference honor of her career after tallying a pair of assists in game two against RIT. She set a new career-high for assists and sits at four assists through 13 games played this season.
No stranger to CHA honors, Miller garnered her second consecutive Goalie of the Week honor after limiting the Tigers to just two goals, one in each game, over the weekend. The senior made 34 stops between the pipes for the Orange and tallied her third and fourth victories of the year.
The Orange are in the midst of a 12-day break before returning to Tennity to host Lindenwood in a two-game set on Dec. 1 and 2. Admission to all home games at Tennity Ice Pavilion is free.
