SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women's basketball team hosts Morgan State in its 2017-18 season opener, Friday afternoon at the Carrier Dome. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. and the game will air on ACC Network Extra. The Orange will honor military members and Syracuse staff with tickets available for $2.

Tickets can be purchased online, by phone at 1-888-DOMETIX, or by visiting the Carrier Dome box office (Gate B) during normal business hours.

Syracuse finished last season with a 22-11 record, advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the fourth straight year. The Orange notched 20 victories for the eighth consecutive season as well. Sophomore guard Gabrielle Cooper, the lone returning starter for the Orange, averaged 9.3 points per game last season and set the freshman single-season 3-point field goal record for Syracuse, knocking down 81 3-point field goals last season.

Rhode Island recorded a 9-21 mark last season with a 2-12 record in non-conference action. The Bears return their top two leading point scorers, seniors Braennan Farrar (12.7 ppg) and Tykrah Williams (10.2 ppg). Syracuse and Morgan State square-off for just the second time in program history with the Orange holding the 1-0 advantage after defeating the Bears 90-61 in 2015.

Orange in Season Openers
The Orange are 32-14 all-time in season openers with a 16-6 mark in games at home. Under the reign of head coach Quentin Hillsman, 'Cuse boasts a 10-1 record in season openers, the only loss coming during his first season, on the road at Penn State.

Home Court Advantage
Syracuse holds one of the strongest home court advantages in the nation. Prior to its loss against Notre Dame on Feb. 19, the team had won 18 consecutive home games, setting a new program record. Syracuse won 16 straight home contests from March 1, 2010 to Jan. 8, 2011.

Under Hillsman, the Orange own an 83-4 overall record against non-conference opposition at home. Since the 2010-11 season, Syracuse has played all of its home contests inside the friendly confines of the Carrier Dome. The Orange hold a 143-52 (.733) overall record in the Loud House.

'Cuse posted a 13-1 record (7-1 ACC) at home last season with the only loss coming against No. 6/7 Notre Dame, an 85-80 defeat.
