2017-18 Schedule
Â
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse ice hockey faces off with three Frozen Four opponents during the 2017-18 season, including NCAA Tournament champion Clarkson. The season features 13 games against opponents who ranked in the top 10 at the end of last season.
Â
The schedule favors Syracuse at home, as the Orange host 19 of their 34 games, including a nine game home stand that begins in October and edges into early November.
Â
The Orange open the season on the road in a two-game set at Bemidji State University on Sept. 29 and Sept. 30, for the westernmost games that 'Cuse will play this season. Following the two-game road series, Syracuse then plays 12 of the next 13 games at home in Tennity Ice Pavilion.
Â
Syracuse hosts Wisconsin (Oct. 6 and 7), Providence College (Oct. 13 and 14) and Northeastern (Oct. 20 and 21) all in the month of October before playing host to a single game against Boston College on Nov. 4 in a Saturday afternoon contest.
Â
'Cuse begins CHA play at home in a two-game set against conference foe Penn State on Nov. 10 and 11. The Orange swept the Nittany Lions in 2016-17, outscoring Penn State 14-3 in four games. Syracuse then hits the road for the first time in over a month for a home-and-home against RIT on Nov. 17 and 18.
Lindenwood University comes to town to kick off the month of December in a two game series on Dec. 1 and 2. Syracuse then hosts reigning NCAA Champion Clarkson in a midweek game (Dec. 5) for the last home game prior to winter break.
Â
The Orange travel to Erie to take on conference rival Mercyhurst in the last two games (Dec. 8 and 9) before the break. 'Cuse split the season series with the Lakers in 2016-17, but finished seven points ahead of Mercyhurst in the CHA final standings
Â
After winter break, the Orange pick back up on the road with a two-game set at Robert Morris (Jan. 5 and 6) before returning home for a midweek match-up against NCAA Tournament participant Cornell on Feb. 6 for Syracuse's last non-conference game of the regular season.
Â
'Cuse closes out the season with six straight CHA games, a home-and-home with RIT (Feb. 9 and 10), a road trip to Missouri to square-off with Lindenwood (Feb. 16 and 17) and a two-game series with Robert Morris (Feb. 23 and 24) in Syracuse to finish out the regular season.
Â
The Orange return 16 letterwinners from last season's team that won 14 conference games and advanced to the CHA title game against Robert Morris. Among the returners is senior and active point's leader Stephanie Grossi.
