Syracuse to Host Drexel on December 9

Syracuse owns a 2-1 advantage in the all-time series
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women's basketball team will take on Drexel on Saturday, December 9 in the Carrier Dome. It marks the third straight season that the two programs will meet on the hardwood.
Syracuse owns a 2-1 advantage in the all-time series against Drexel. In the most recent matchup, the Dragons emerged with a 62-61 victory on Nov. 21, 2016. Drexel guard Meghan Creighton sank a 3-point field goal with nine seconds remaining in regulation to seal the win. Guard Gabby Cooper tallied nine points, while guard Chelayne Bailey pulled down a personal-best three boards in the loss.
The 2016-17 Orange advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the fourth straight season, one of 15 programs nationally to do so. Cooper, a 2017 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Freshman Team honoree, leads a returning core that will join with one of the nation's top recruiting classes to form the 2017-18 squad.
Drexel finished the 2016-17 season with a 22-11 overall record and advanced to the WNIT second round. Rising sophomore forward Bailey Greenberg, a 2017 CAA All-Rookie Team member, is the club's leading returner scorer after averaging 7.7. points per contest.
