Kayla Alexander sets new career-highs in scoring and steals
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Center Kayla Alexander '13 and guards Alexis Peterson and Brittney Sykes, the top three scorers in the history of the Syracuse women's basketball program, are all in action as the 2017 WNBA season is underway.

Kayla Alexander, San Antonio Stars
- Currently averaging 5.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 0.4 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game in 25 contests played
- Paces San Antonio in field goal percentage (54.9 percent) and sits in second for blocked shots (0.5/game)
- Played a career-best game against New York on Aug. 1, notching 19 points with nine field goals made and tabbing a career-high three steals
- Recorded a defensive rebound at Phoenix on July 30
- Tallied four points and five rebounds in 19 minutes of action against Los Angeles on July 28
Alexis Peterson, Seattle Storm
- Tallying 1.7 points, 1.0 rebounds, 0.7 assists and 0.2 steals per contest in nine games

Brittney Sykes, Atlanta Dream
- Averaging 12.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.6 blocked shots per game in 23 contests played
- Named the WNBA Rookie of the Month after leading first-year players in scoring with 17.8 points per game in the month of July
- Recorded 14 points with four assists and five rebounds while shooting 4-for-4 at the free throw line on July 30 against Washington
- Notched 13 points, two steals, two assists and two rebounds on July 28 against Minnesota
