The biggest regular season meet of the year awaits the Syracuse cross country teams this weekend, when the Orange head to Madison, Wisconsin for the NCAA Pre-Nationals meet.

About the Meet
- There are three different races for both men and women: Cardinal race (seeded), White Race (seeded), and Gray Race (unseeded). The two seeded races were split evenly from a competition standpoint by an independent seeding committee. Each seeded race features 35 teams of seven competitors.
- The women's races are 6ks while the men's are 8ks.
- The meet begins at 10 a.m. with the women's Cardinal Race
- The men's team will be running in the "white race" at 12:15 p.m. against eight ranked opponents, highlighted by No. 2 BYU, No. 4 Portland, No. 8 Syracuse, and No. 10 Air Force
- The women's team will run the "cardinal race," with 10 ranked competitors, including No. 1 Colorado, No. 4 Oregon, No. 7 Arkansas, and No. 9 BYU.

- The men placed third with 151 points last October in Madison at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational; The women placed 18th with 488 points
- Former Orange star Justyn Knight won the race with a 23:38.5 finish becoming only the second runner in the race's history to win multiple individual championships.
- Aidan Tooker had his best performance to date with his first major meet top-10 finish, crossing the line at 23:53.2 to place 10th. Â Colin Bennie finished 14th, Philo Germano finished 31st, and Joe Dragon finished 95th
- Paige Stoner led the way for the women, finishing 24th at 20:16.6. Shannon Malone finished at 20:36.3, good for 46th place. Rachel Bonner (92nd), Madeleine Davison (123rd), and Eva Scott (203rd) rounded out Cuse's scoring
- The men won the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown on September 21 with four top-10 finishers; the women came in ninth place.
- Aidan Tooker led the men with his second place finish with a time of 24:02.5. Noah Affolder took fifth place (24:10.1), Kevin James finished in eighth place (24:16.4), and Joe Dragon crossed the line in ninth place (24:17.3).
- The men finished with 37 points.
- Madeline Davidson helped the women secure a top-10 finish with her 17:40.6 time, good for 20th place. Rachel Bonner was just behind her at 22nd (17:48.8).
- The women finished with 242 points.
Ranking the Orange
- The Syracuse men are ranked in the USTFCCCA poll for the 63rd-straight week, dating back to week seven of the 2011 season.
- 'Cuse has been ranked in the top-10 in 42 of the last 43 polls.
- The Orange men check in at No. 8 in this week's poll, making them once again the ACC's highest ranked squad.
