
Final Regular Season Meet is Successful for Orange

The No. 10 Syracuse men took seven of the top-eight spots, including unattached competitors, while Kelsey Potts turned in a second place finish for the No. 25 Orange women, to close out the regular season at the John Reif Memorial.
Matthew Scrape earned the overall win for the 'Cuse men, cruising to a time of 15:23.3 over the 5k course. Noah Beveridge (15:39.6), Nathan Lawler (15:43.7) and Joey Eovaldi (15:52.3) finished second, third and fourth to keep the Orange pack tight at the top. Michael Phillips (15:59.3), Silas Derfel (16:04.4) and Stephen Schulz (16:14.7) also turned in top-eight performances for 'Cuse.
Behind the top seven, Declan Kottmeier (16:38.4), Matt Cavallaro (16:39.7), Pierce Miller (16:51.1) and Keith McAteer (16:53.0) also finished in the top-20 for SU. Tom Struzzieri (17:59.2) rounded out the Orange competitors with a 25th-place finish.
For the women, Potts crossed the line in 18:42.4, seven seconds behind Cornell's Annie Glodek for the individual title. Eva Scott (18:44.7) turned in a fourth-place finish as well for 'Cuse. Olivia Elston (19:16.3), Elizabeth Cultra (19:24.2) and Kayli Jones (19:55.3) rounded out the Orange competition in 10th, 13th and 14th, respectively.
Next, Syracuse will compete at the ACC Championships in Boston on Oct. 26.
