Syracuse, N.Y. – For the fourth time in five years, Syracuse University's women's basketball team earned a spot in the Associated Press (AP) Top-25 Poll. The Orange checked in at No. 18 Wednesday morning earning their highest preseason ranking since debuting at No. 14 in 2016.
Syracuse is one of six Atlantic Coast Conference teams ranked in the preseason poll with defending national champion Notre Dame claiming the top spot. Louisville is No. 5 while NC State (No. 17), Duke (No. 21) and Miami (No. 25) also earned spots in the top-25.
Eight Syracuse opponents are ranked in the preseason poll, including non-conference foes Oregon (No. 3), DePaul (No. 15) and Texas A&M (No. 20).
Syracuse went 22-9 last season en route to its sixth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance. The Orange ranked as high as No. 22 in last year's USA Today Coaches Poll but never held an AP ranking during the 2017-18 season.
The Orange begin their season Tuesday, Nov. 6 when they host North Dakota at 3 p.m. inside the Carrier Dome. 'Cuse then hits the road for a non-conference matchup with No. 3 Oregon in Eugene on Nov. 10 before kicking off 'Cuse in the City week on Nov. 14 with a neutral site game against No. 20 Texas A&M at the Westchester County Center at 7 p.m.
Syracuse is one of two NCAA Division I schools with its football (22), men's basketball (16) and women's basketball teams all ranked in the AP Top-25 in their respective sports. Mississippi State is the other.
Additionally, Syracuse is the only NCAA Division I school that had both the men's and women's basketball teams make the NCAA Tournament last year and return all five starters from each squad.
Syracuse 2018-19 season tickets are available for $75 in the General Admission sections and $125 for courtside reserved seating. Football and men's basketball current season ticket holders can add general admission seating women's basketball season tickets to their accounts for a special $50 rate. Single game tickets for home games start at $10, with group rates starting at $5. Fans can purchase tickets online or by phone (888-DOME-TIX).
