SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Basketball is back! The No. 18 Syracuse women's basketball team hosts North Dakota at 3 p.m. in the Carrier Dome on Tuesday, Nov. 6. The Orange are coming off a 22-9 season and their sixth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance. The game will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra with Noah Eagle and Drew Carter on the call.
The highly anticipated 2018-19 season gets underway when the Orange and Fighting Hawks face off for the first time in program history. The Orange return all five starters from last season's squad and add a top-10 recruiting class highlighted by McDonald's All-American Emily Engstler and French U20 National Team member Kadiatou Sissoko. After a year on the sidelines, France natives Maeva Djaldi-Tabdi and Marie-Paule Foppossi will be eligible to step on the court for the first time for the Orange.
Syracuse was picked to finish third in the Atlantic Coast Conference this season, its highest preseason pick since joining the league in 2013. Junior point guard Tiana Mangakahia and Engstler earned preseason honors being named Preseason First Team All-ACC and to the Newcomer Watch List, respectively. Mangakahia led the nation in assists (304) and assists per game (9.8) last season, en route to setting program and ACC records in both categories.
Led by seventh-year head coach Travis Brewster, the Fighting Hawks begin their season with seven-straight road games; the first of which will be at the Dome. Last season, North Dakota went 12-18 overall and 5-13 in the Big Sky Conference. UND returns leading scorer and rebounder Lexi Klabo who tallied 19.0 points and 9.3 rebounds per game as a junior.
Syracuse 2018-19 season tickets are available for $75 in the General Admission sections and $125 for courtside reserved seating. Football and men's basketball current season ticket holders can add general admission seating women's basketball season tickets to their accounts for a special $50 rate. Single game tickets for home games start at $10, with group rates starting at $5. Fans can purchase tickets online or by phone (888-DOME-TIX).
