SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- No. 8/8 Syracuse will face a team ranked in the top five for the second time in five days when it hosts No. 2/5 Maryland on Sunday, March 11. Opening draw is set for 1 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. Admission and parking are free.

SYRACUSE AGAINST RANKED OPPONENTS
Sunday's game is the third straight for the Orange against a team ranked in the top 10. Last weekend, Syracuse played at No. 9 Virginia before taking on No. 3 Florida on Wednesday in the Carrier Dome. The Orange split those two contests and enter Sunday's game with a record of 4-1.

DOME SWEET DOME
Sunday's game is the second of two straight home contests for Syracuse. After Sunday's game, the Orange will play five straight games on the road and won't return to the Carrier Dome until March 31.

SCOUTING THE TERRAPINS
Maryland is coming off a 17-10 victory against Hofstra last weekend that improved its record to 4-1. The defending national champions spent the first three weeks of the season ranked No. 1 before losing at North Carolina, 16-15 in overtime, for its only setback of the year.

All-American Megan Whittle leads the Terrapins in scoring with 27 points on a team-best 23 goals and four assists. Jen Giles is right behind with 22 points. She leads the squad with seven assists. Megan Taylor has started all five games in goal for Maryland. She has an 11.97 goals-against average and a .407 save percentage.

SERIES HISTORY
Sunday's game is the 23rd meeting between Syracuse and Maryland. The Terrapins own a 21-1 advantage in the series. The squads met last season in College Park where Maryland defeated the Orange, 17-7.

Syracuse plays its first of five straight road games on Friday, March 16 against Harvard at the U.S. Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md. at 1 p.m.
