
Syracuse Men Roll to Coast-to-Coast Repeat

The No. 10 Syracuse men's cross country team put all-five scorers in the top-13 to put down a dominant performance at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown and successfully defend their title at the event.
Aidan Tooker's second-place performance led the Orange to score 37 total points, well ahead of No. 26 Washington's 70. No. 30 Ole Miss (77), No. 16 Virginia (98), North Carolina (153) and No. 12 Campbell (189), took the next-four spots in succession.
Tooker's time of 24:02.5 in his season debut was 0.3 seconds off Campbell's Amon Kemboi for the overall title. Noah Affolder finished fifth (24:10.1), Kevin James took eighth (24:16.4), Joe Dragon crossed the line in ninth (24:17.3) and Iliass Aouani rounded out the scoring in 13th (24:24.0) to crush the field.
Dominic Hockenbury (24:51.2) and Simon Smith (25:24.6) were the Orange's sixth and seventh man.
On the women's side, Madeleine Davison turned in a top-20 performance, while the team finished ninth as a whole. Davison crossed the line in 17:40.6, while teammate Rachel Bonner followed closely in 22nd (17:48.8).
Mary Malone (53rd/18:08.6), Eleanor Lawler (18:19.2) and Emma Wilson (18:28.8) rounded out the Syracuse scoring, as the team scored 242 points. Ole Miss won the women's race with 102 points.
