Orange Head to Cornell for Reif Memorial

The Syracuse Men's and Women's cross country teams head to Cornell this Friday for the John Reif Memorial.

LAST YEAR AT THE JOHN REIF MEMORIAL:

Syracuse Men took seven out of the top eight spots while the women took five out of the top-15.
Matt Scrape took first place in a time of 15:23.33 and were followed up by Noah Beveridge (15:39.6), Nathan Lawler (15:43.7) and Joey Eovaldi (15:52.3) in second, third and fourth.
Kelsey Potts nabbed a second-place finish in 18:42.4 while Eva Scott turned out a fourth-place finish (18:44.7).

LAST TIME OUT:

Nathan Henderson was the top Syracuse finisher, taking 50th overall. He finished in a time of 24:17.5 to lead the Orange in scoring.
Redshirt-freshman Nathan Lawler took 63rd (24:23.5), followed by redshirt-freshman Noah Beveridge (24:33.8/141st)
Amanda Vestri led the Orange on the women's side taking 37th place, crossing the line in 20:36.8. Junior Rachel Bonner took 70^th, finishing line in 21:03.8, followed by graduate student Jordan Jacob in 116th place (21:23.1).

RANKING THE ORANGE:

The Syracuse men dropped to No. 28 in the poll this week, while the women are receiving votes.

NEXT UP:

The squads will head to Blacksburg, Virginia in one week for the ACC Championships, with both teams having something to prove.
For the women, the team wants to follow up on its best conference finish ever last season after the Orange finished third.
For the men, 'Cuse wants to reclaim its title, which for the first time since joining the ACC wasn't won by Syracuse last season.
