CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Top 10 teams collide when No. 3/3 Syracuse visits No. 6/5 North Carolina in ACC women's lacrosse action on Saturday, April 13. The Orange go for their eighth consecutive victory in the contest, which begins at 12 p.m.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse improved its record to 13-2 with a 14-13 win against No. 21/rv Virginia Tech last Wednesday. The Orange have had 10 days of rest heading into the matchup against ACC rival North Carolina. Syracuse is in second place in the conference standings with a 5-1 league record.

Freshman Megan Carney had a career night against the Hokies. She led the team in goals with four, assists with five and points with nine, all of which are career highs. Junior Emily Hawryschuk also had three goals and an assist on the day, including the game-winning goal.

Saturday's matchup against No. 6/5 North Carolina marks the 10th time this season that the Orange have faced a top 25 opponent and the fifth time they have faced a top 10 opponent. Syracuse ranks fourth in the RPI released earlier this week.

SCOUTING THE TAR HEELS
North Carolina is coming off a 17-6 road victory against Louisville, improving its record to 10-3, including 3-2 in the ACC. Â

Sophomore Jamie Ortega leads the Tar Heels' offense with 52 goals and 69 points on the season. She ranks third in the ACC in goals per game and points per game. Junior Katie Hoeg leads the team in assists with 37, which rank second in the ACC. In goal for the Tar Heels is sophomore Taylor Moreno. She has a goals-against average of 8.42 and a save percentage of .541, which leads the ACC.

Jenny Levy is in her 24th season at the helm of the North Carolina program. She has a career record of 339-116 and has led the Tar Heels to two national championships.

THE SERIES
Saturday's matchup marks the 14th meeting between the Orange and the Tar Heels. North Carolina leads the series, 7-6. The two teams met twice last season, with the Tar Heels coming out on top in both games. North Carolina defeated Syracuse, 20-11, during the regular season in the Carrier Dome and 21-12 in the first round of the ACC Tournament.

UP NEXTÂ
Syracuse will host Cornell in its regular-season finale on Tuesday, April 16 at 7 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. The Orange will honor their senior class in a pregame ceremony. Admission and parking are free. The game will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
