SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University women's basketball team will host Oregon Sunday, Nov. 24, at 4 p.m. on the ACC Network, announced Thursday night during the All ACC: Basketball Schedule Release on the ACC Network. Syracuse and Oregon last met in Eugene on Nov. 10, 2018 when the then-ranked No. 18 Orange took the No. 3 Ducks to the wire at Mathew Knight Arena, ultimately losing, 75-73.
Oregon went on to reach the NCAA Women's Final Four where the Ducks were eliminated by eventual champion Baylor, 72-67, in the semifinals. Syracuse posted one of its best seasons in program history during the 2018-19 season and hosted the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament for the second time in four years.
This time, Syracuse will be without Associated Press (AP) All-America Honorable Mention point guard Tiana Mangakahia due to her recent diagnosis with breast cancer. However, the Orange return three starters and eight of the top nine scorers from last season's squad, while adding six new faces to the crowd.
Oregon will be led by 2019 Nancy Lieberman Award and Wooden Award winner Sabrina Ionescu, while Ruthy Hebard, Satou Sabally and Erin Boley also return from the Ducks starting lineup. Oregon is a heavy favorite for the NCAA title in 2020 and was recently tabbed as the No. 1 team in Charlie Creme's Way to Early Top-25 on Sept. 4.
The game will be the first home game for the Orange on ACC Network. Fans can only watch ACCN games if their cable provider carries the ACC Network. Fans unsure if their provider carries ACCN are strongly encouraged to visit GetACCN.com.
