
Sykes Traded to WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks

Syracuse, N.Y. – Former Syracuse Orange women's basketball star, Brittney Sykes, is part of a three-player trade between the Los Angeles Sparks and the Atlanta Dream. Sykes, who was drafted by Atlanta seventh overall in the 2017 WNBA Draft, and teammate Marie Gülich have been traded to Los Angeles in exchange for the Dream acquiring the No. 7 pick in the 2019 draft, Kalani Brown.
Sykes spent three seasons with the Dream appearing in 97 games with 54 starts. She was named to the WNBA All-Rookie Team in 2017 and helped Atlanta to an appearance in the Conference Finals in her second season. She averaged 11.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game in Atlanta.

An All-American at Syracuse, Sykes helped guide the Orange to its first NCAA Final Four in program history. Sykes totaled 1,846 career points in 138 games and became the highest drafted player to the WNBA in program history in 2017.
