Kamilla Cardoso is one of the best high school basketball players in the country. The 6-foot-6 center from Chattanooga, Tenn., is part of Syracuse Head Coach Quentin Hillsman's No. 4 recruiting class in the nation and has been named a finalist for the Jersey Mike's Naismith National High School Player of the Year award.
Cardoso is the only center of the five finalists and one of two that have signed with Atlantic Coast Conference schools. Guard Hailey Van Lith signed with Louisville.
Cardoso is a senior at Hamilton Heights Christian Academy where she has led the Hawks to a 21-1 record this season. After losing their second game of the year, the Hawks have won 20-straight games, most recently defeating Legacy Early College on Feb. 8. Cardoso has led her team to a No. 1 ranking in the state and No. 4 ranking in the country.
Joining Cardoso at Syracuse next year is Player of the Year Semifinalist Priscilla Williams (No. 11 overall, No. 3 guard), Faith Blackstone (No. 91 overall, No. 24 guard), Khamya McNeal (No. 29 guard), and Kiara Fisher (No. 47 point guard). The group makes up the highest-ranked recruiting class in program history.
