The Orange ice hockey team returns to the ice to kick off the second half of the 2020-21 season on Friday, Jan. 22. Syracuse (2-4-1 overall, 2-2-1 College Hockey America) will host Robert Morris (5-2-1) at 7 pm in the first of a two game weekend series at Tennity Ice Pavilion. The teams will square off again on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 3 pm. Both games will be streamed live on Cuse.com.

The series between the Orange and the Colonials is almost deadlocked, with Robert Morris holding a slight lead, 22-20-9.

CHA Player of the Month
Senior Victoria Klimek earned the College Hockey America Player of the Month in after scoring four goals for the Orange and one assist in the four games against Penn State during the month of December. The Orangeville, Ontario native scored the lone goal in Syracuse's 2-1 loss on Saturday (12/5/2020) and both goals in the 2-2 overtime tie on Sunday (12/6/2020) during the series at Penn State. When the Orange and the Nittany Lions rematched the following weekend, Klimek recorded one goal and one assist in the 4-2 win on Saturday (12/12/2020). In 2020-21, Klimek leads the team with eight points, including five goals and three assists.

More CHA Honors
Junior Abby Moloughney was recognized as the Player of the Week (12/14/2020) and freshman Sarah Thompson as the Rookie of the Week (12/14/2020). The Ottawa, Ontario natives combined for three goals and three assists in the series vs. Penn State to receive the recognition. Moloughney scored the third goal in the 4-3 OT loss on Friday and on Saturday scored the second goal and assisted on the third goal for the 4-2 win. Thompson assisted on the first goal Friday night then followed up Saturday scoring the first goal and assisting on the fourth goal.Â

Leaders Against the Colonials
Junior Lauren Bellefontaine leads this year's team recording five points against the Colonials (three goals and two assists). Junior Abby Moloughney and senior Victoria Klimek are just behind Bellefontaine with four points each. Moloughney with four goals and Klimek with four assists. This season Moloughney is second on the team in points with seven (three goals and four assists) and Bellefontaine is sixth with five points (one goal and four assists).

Small Protects the Net
Senior Allison Small holds the Syracuse career save percentage record with a .929 mark, just passing Kallie Billadeau who held the record at .918 from 2010 to 2014. Small has recorded 25 or more saves in 20 of her 31 career games and 30 or more in 13 of those contests. Against Robert Morris the Nestleton, Ontario native has recorded 111 saves, allowing nine goals against and is 2-2-0.
