SU Posts a Pair of Top-Four Finishes at the ACC Championships

The Syracuse men's cross country team finished second to No. 8 Notre Dame, while the Orange women took fourth overall, their best finish since 2018 at the ACC Championships.
Syracuse (second and fourth), North Carolina (second and fourth) were the only two programs to put both its men's and women's teams in the top four.
The Fighting Irish finished with 32 points, while 'Cuse collected 84. Wake Forest (104) took third.
Joe Dragon finished eighth overall (23:53.0), for his fifth-straight top-10 finish at the ACC Championships to lead the squad. Aidan Tooker (23:56.4) took 12th, and JP Trojan (23.58.1) was 14th. Matthew Scrape (24:16.6) finished 22nd overall and Brody Smith (24:22.3) rounded out the scoring in 30th overall.
Noah Beveridge (44th), Alex Comerford (47th), Joey Eovaldi (48th), Ethan Wechsler (59th) and Silas Derfel (87th) also competed for the Orange.
Amanda Vestri took third overall, her second-straight top-three finish at the event and third-straight top-10 finish. She led the No. 16 Orange to 105 team points, just three points behind the No. 10 Seminoles. No. 2 NC State led the way with 20 points, followed by No. 13 North Carolina with 87 points.
In addition to Vestri, Annie Boos also earned All-ACC accolades, finishing 21st with a time of 20:50.8. Teammate Savannah Roark was right behind in 23rd (20:52.0). Holly Bent (21:00.9) and Abigail Spiers (21:06.3) rounded out the Syracuse scoring in 29th and 33rd, respectfully.
Sydney Nowicki (21:20.4) and Sophia Jacobs-Townsley (21:26.1) also posted top-50 finishes overall, while Justus Holden Betts (21:34.0), Reilly Zink (21:35.9 and Emily Lane (21:37.2) also competed for 'Cuse. All-10 Orange runners finished in the top-62.
Next, Syracuse heads to the NCAA Northeast Regional on Nov. 12 in Boston.
