'Cuse to Race at Head of the Fish

The Orange will race four eights and five fours at the 2021 Head of the Fish on Saturday, October 30 in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Syracuse will compete against several teams from the northeast, including Cornell, Dartmouth and Colgate. Orange boats will compete in the Women's Collegiate Eight, the Women's Freshmen/Novice Eight, and the Women's Collegiate Four, which will all be 3,200m courses. The last time Orange competed in this event was 2013.

This past weekend, the Orange competed in their first race, Head of the Charles. The varsity eight finished seventh among college boats, finishing the 4,700-meter course in 16:16.535. The varsity four placed third among college boats, completing the 4,700-meter course in 18:42.110, behind Brown (18:15.731) and Boston University (18:32.591).
Head coach Luke McGee is in his fourth year leading the Syracuse program. In 2020-21 he guided the Orange to a 10th-place finish at the NCAA Championship, which was the best performance in program history.
The 2021 Orange fall season will conclude November 7th at the Princeton Chase.
