As the Syracuse Orange prepare to host Clemson in the Carrier Dome on Saturday, Dec.11 (6 p.m., ACC Network), we continue our Q&A series to help you get to know your Orange! In this edition we talk with Eboni Walker.Â
Â
1. What made Syracuse a place you wanted to come and play basketball?
To be simple, it was the recruitment. The coaches did a great job really showing me the university and the future plan of the program. I fell in love with the fact that we had a lot of new players coming in.
2. What do you do during your free time?
Free time? Just kidding. When I have free time I just love being around people I enjoy so that includes watching movies, hanging out, etc. I am also a big gamer and I love putting things together.
3. Some people like to call you Swaggy E. How did you get this nickname?
I got this nickname from simply being different and I love it. I honestly thing it was a backhanded compliement based on how I dressed, to say the least, but I made it me.
4. When did you realize basketball was the sport for you?
Honestly, I can't really remember. I played many sports growing up, I was just an active kid and still am to this day. But my first sport was basketball and regardless I always had the love for it and just couldn't get enough. The thrill of basketball is unmatched.
Â
5. Where is your favorite place to go on campus?
My favorite place to go is Newhouse. I go up there with Jayla [Thornton] all the time. I know that degree building more than my own.
6. What is your favorite restaurant from your hometown?
The Geisha House. It is a hibachi-style resturant. If recommend it for anyone traveling to Las Vegas to give it a try you will be amazed.
7. What's the app on your phone that you use the most?
The clock app to set alarms and timers. I also have tons of pages of games on my phone.
8. How would you describe the impact basketball has had on your life?
The impact is unmeasurable. Basketball changed my life and I will forever be grateful for it.
9. Who is your favorite athlete?
My favorite athlete is the future me. I can explain that one in person.
10. What are your strengths while on the court?
If I had to say one word, it would energy. This includes how and why I value and do all the little things like diving on the floor, playing had on defense and pressure points and shots.
