
Tyrrell Earns National Honor

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse sophomore Emma Tyrrell is this week's US Lacrosse Player of the Week. Tyrrell had a career day in the No. 3 Orange's 16-7 victory against No. 4 Boston College with six goals and seven points.

Tyrrell moved from midfield to make her first start at attack against the Eagles. Three of her goals came during Syracuse's 8-0 scoring run over a span of 16:48 in the first half that gave the Orange control of the game. Tyrrell scored three more goals in the second half, the final coming with 2:40 remaining for the 16-7 final.

The Mt. Sinai, N.Y. native is one of six members of the Orange to record 30 or more points this season. She has 23 goals and nine assists for 32 points.
