As the Syracuse Orange prepare to host Stony Brook in the JMA Wireless Dome on Monday, Nov. 7 (3:30 p.m., ACCNX), we begin our Q&A series to help you get to know your Orange! In this edition we talk with freshman Kennedi Perkins.
Â
You are music and collect records, what is your favorite vinyl that you own?
KP: My favorite vinyl is Chloe and Hallie, Ungodly Deluxe. That's the one I listen to the most.
Â
What was the first concert that you went to?
KP: Lauryn Hill. I was in 7th grade, and I remember it was a school night on a Thursday, she was a little late but preformed so well.
Â
How would you describe Coach Jack in one word?
KP: Enthusiystic.
Â
What is your goal for the season, both personal and for the team?
KP: Personally, I am shooting for Freshman of the Year. Team wise, I want to win a National Championship.
Â
You are majoring in engineering, what made you pick that major?
KP: Both of my parents are engineers and I like math, data and numbers.
Â
Chicago pizza or New York pizza? What about toppings?Â
KP: Chicago pizza. NY pizza is gross. Toppings, it depends. If is deep dish, I get sausage and if it is not deep dish, I will get peperoni.
Â
Why the difference?
KP: Pepperoni doesn't taste good on deep dish.
Â
Where id your favorite place on campus?
KP: Schine Student Center. That is where all the food is. I get Panda Express almost every day. I also like Bird Library.
What has been the hardest adjustment in college so far?
KP: Â There are long days with practice and class schedule. I am up for 12 hours some days. I must get used to the long hours and learn how to time manage.
Â
What is your least favorite chore around the apartment?
KP: I don't really do much around the apartment, so I would have to say cleaning my room.
Â
If you had to drive across the country, which teammate are you taking?
KP: Alaina Rice, I don't know why. I have no reason; I just have a gut feeling.
