#17 Pittsburgh (12-2-1, 5-1-1) had goals from five different players and stymied Syacuse's (2-11-2, 0-6-1) offense in a 6-0 victory for the Panthers on Saturday at the SU Soccer Stadium.

Sophomore goalkeeper Shea Vanderbosch made 11 saves and moved into second on the Orange's single-season stop list (108) in the defeat.

PANTHERS ATTACK
Pittsburgh produced a relentless offensive attack that produced 32 shots on goal -- including an even 16 shots and three goals in each half -- and 17 of the attempts were on goal.

The scoring barrage began at 15:07 when Ellie Coffield tallied her fourth goal of the season. Eight minutes later, at 23:21, Samiah Phiri took a feed from Sarah Schupansky and upped the Panther advantage to 2-0. Amanda West got into the act at 33:08, scoring off an assist from Keera Melenhorst. It was the eighth goal for Phiri and the seventh for West.

PITTSBURGH BUILDS LEAD
Following the intermission, the Panthers went right back to work with Schupansky earning her 10th goal just 1:17 into the second half. Schupansky ultimately had a foot in on all three second-period tallies for Pittsburgh. She assisted on Landy Mertz's goal at 60:35 and West's at 65:14. Mertz picked up her second goal of the campaign and West upped her total to eight.

VANDERBOSCH SHINES ON BUSY AFTERNOON
Vanderbosch had a number of dynamic saves among her 11 stops for the Orange. One of them came at 20:32, with Pittsburgh holding a 1-0 advantage. The Panthers were awarded a penalty kick but Vanderbosch rejected and then corralled the attempt by Ashton Gordon.

She had five saves by the break and then added six more after the intermission. Vanderbosch continues to close in on the single-season school record of 138 saves, set by Katie Karlander in 2000.

NOTABLE NOTES:

Vanderbosch posted a double-digit save total for the fourth time in her last six contests. During that span of contests, she has averaged 11.2 an outing.
Pittsburgh cut into Syracuse's all-time series advantage. The Orange have a 12-8-5 record in the 25 meeting with the Panthers.
The Panthers are the Orange's second most-familiar foe. Syracuse has only faced Colgate more times than Pitt.
Vanderbosch, senior Zoe Van de Cloot, junior Kylen Grant and sophomores Ashley Rauch and Grace Gillard played all 90 minutes for the Orange.
Vanderbosch and Grant have played every minute of the 15 matches this fall.
