The Orange encountered #3 Florida State on Sept. 21 and #8 Clemson on Sept. 30, sandwiched around a pairing with Virginia Tech on Sept. 24.
Â
Student Night:
The first 100 Syracuse University students who arrive at the SU Soccer Stadium will receive a free slice of pizza. A Syracuse i.d. is required.
The Syracuse-Wake Forest Series:
Wake Forest has a 7-2-1 advantage in the all-time series with Syracuse. The two teams first met on Sept. 1, 2006, and Wake Forest won, 4-0. The Demon Deacons also won the most recent matchup, a 2-0 decision in 2022.
Two of Syracuse's victories in the series came at the SU Soccer Stadium.
Â
Syracuse Status:
The Orange (2-9-1, 0-4-0) continue to battle with a roster depleted by injuries. Redshirt sophomore Erin Flurey, who owns a squad-best four goals, has remained a top threat.
Two other consistent performers, junior defender Kylen Grant and sophomore goalkeeper Shea Vanderbosch, have each played every minutes of Syracuse's 12 contests this fall. Vanderbosch leads the ACC in saves (75) and saves average (6.3).
Â
Wake Forest Status:
The Demon Deacons (8-1-2, 2-1-1) are coming off back-to-back wins versus #22 Virginia (2-0) and at Virginia Tech (2-0). They have lost just once, at #13 Notre Dame (3-1).Â
Sophomore Caiya Hanks (6 g, 4 a) and junior Emily Murphy (4 g, 1 a) are the top goal-scoring weapons. Senior Morgan Howard (0.86 goals-against-average) has yielded only six goals in eight starts.
