As Syracuse prepares to host Binghamton on Monday, February 20, we continue our Q&A series with senior Hallie Simkins
Why did you choose to come to Syracuse?
One of the main reasons I came to Syracuse was because my sister, Ella, was on the team and I saw how much of a family this team was and that's what I wanted for my college experience.
Â
What goals do you have for this season, both personally and for the team?
I want to win a National Championship with this team!
Â
Who is your lacrosse role model or who did you love to watch growing up?
I would say I have two role models in lacrosse, one being my sister because I grew up watching her play, and the other is my aunt, Lauren Clegg, who played at Georgetown and is a Hall of Famer there.
Â
What is the best advice you could give a young lacrosse player?
The best advice I could give to a younger player is to play fearless, don't get caught up in your mistakes just keep moving forward with a positive attitude.
Â
What is your favorite hobby when you are not playing lacrosse?
When I am not playing lacrosse, my favorite hobby is sailing.
What is your favorite sports team?
I would have to say my favorite sports team is the New York Rangers.
Â

I am not a very superstitious person, but I could say that braiding Emma Tyrrell's and Bianca Chevarie's hair before every game is a ritual of mine whether I like it or not.
Â
Go to karaoke song?
My go to karaoke song would probably be "If I Ain't Got You" by Alicia Keys.
Â
If you could have any superpower, which would you pick?
I would want to be able to fly.

My favorite celebrity would maybe be Dennis Rodman, because he is so different and was one of the best defensive players in the NBA.
