Six Orange Skaters Earn AHCA All-America Recognition

Six Syracuse ice hockey student-athletes are on the 2022-23 Krampade/AHCA All-America Scholars list, including three-time honorees Sarah Thompson and Tatum White and two-time honoree Hannah Johnson. Junior Kambel Beacom and freshmen Gabrielle Dougherty and Charlotte Hallett earned the honor for the first time in their Orange career. All six student-athletes were also named to the 2022-23 College Hockey America All-Academic team.

Thompson, a junior sport management major from Ottawa, Ontario, was Syracuse's second leading scorer in 2022-23 with 14 goals and 10 assists. An alternate captain, White is a junior majoring in medicinal chemistry who is from Kingston, Ontario, tallied 14 points last season. Johnson is a medicinal chemistry major from Readfield, Maine, and scored 11 points in 2022-23. A native of Elmira, Ontario, Beacom had five assists from her defensive position last season. She is majoring in sport management. Dougherty, who hails from Ann Arbor, Mich. and is majoring in sport analytics recorded an assist in her first season with the Orange. A native of Markham, Ontario, Hallett, who is a dual major in forensic science and arts & sciences) had one goal and two assists in her debut season at Syracuse.

To earn the All-American Scholar distinction, student-athletes had to maintain a 3.75 or higher GPA for each semester in 2022-23 and play in 40 percent of the games.

The 2023-24 Orange begin their season on September 29 at Post in the first of a two-game series.
