
Orange Men Win Harry Lang Invite

Matthew Scrape cruised to victory at the Harry Lang Invitational, to help the No. 11 Syracuse men's cross country squad win the team title.
Scrape traversed the 6K course nearly 5 seconds clear of the field in 18:58.6. Teammate Joey Eovaldi (19:04.8) took third, followed by Julian Franjieh (19:13.5), Alex Herbst (19:20.8) and Gabriel Planty (19:21.8) in fifth, sixth and eighth, respectively to complete the SU scoring.
The Orange's 23 points, bested Navy (41) for the team title. Patrick Malone (25th), Noah Beveridge (29th), Eamon Burke (43rd) and Joey Hendershot (50th) also raced.
The Orange women finished second overall. Madeline Heintz was the team's top finisher, taking fifth overall. She finished the 5k course in 18:24.2.
Teammate Caroline Kirby (18:28.7) was sixth, followed by Bethany Steiner (18:34.8) in ninth. Tess Fitzmaurice (18:40.9) and Siobhan O'Keefe (18:41.5) took 13th and 14th, respectively, to round out the top-five.
Emily Toth-Ratazzi (22nd), Leah Futey (23rd), Olivia Shattuck (31st), Taylor Mascetta (55th), Lucy Zombek (90th) and Madeline Lutz (101st) also ran at the meet.
The Orange women finished with 47 points, nine behind Bucknell for the team title.
'Cuse is back in action on Friday at the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational, hosted by Penn State.
